Well, apparently she only had about 4 inches of hair anyway - the rest was all extensions. They showed the salon owner being interviewed on CNN and she said the extensions were in there really tight, and that she only had about 4 inches of her own hair.

But according to the salon owner, that salon was in a dumpy part of town, so for Brit to go there at closing time to do it... it doesn't seem like she did it just to get rid of the extensions.
